I work in medical billing, where I have to keep track of insurance claims, follow-ups, documentation, deadlines, and different tasks throughout the day. I'm interested in using Notion to create a more organized workflow instead of keeping everything across separate notes and spreadsheets.

For people who use Notion for work, what setup would you recommend?

Would you use separate databases for tasks and projects, or keep everything in one workspace?

I'm also curious about using relations, filters, reminders, and dashboard views to keep track of pending tasks and follow-ups.

Yes, but not fully the way you might expect.

Notion does integrate with Google Calendar, but it’s kinda more like “connected view” than a perfect 2-way sync.

You can connect and see your Google Calendar events inside Notion Calendar
Everything shows up nicely in one place (super useful for planning)
BUT… It’s mostly one-way or limited sync, your Notion tasks/events don’t automatically go back into Google Calendar by default

If you want full 2-way sync (Notion ⇄ Google Calendar), you usually still need tools like Zapier, Make, or other automation services.

Hello, I have a website built with WordPress using Elementor, RankMath and WP-Rocket. Everything seems to be working correctly, but when we share links from the website in Notion, the title, description, and image do not appear.

On LinkedIn, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Slack the preview works fine — the only platform where it fails is Notion.

I’m not very sure how to troubleshoot this, could someone give me some guidance on what might be causing it?

Steps to Reproduce:

Open a database in Gallery view
Open Layout settings (right panel)
Under Card preview, select "Page content"
Try to deselect/uncheck "Page content" by clicking it again

Expected Behavior:

Clicking the currently selected "Page content" option should deselect it (toggle off), reverting the card preview to "None" or allowing the user to clear the selection.

Actual Behavior:

The "Page content" checkbox remains checked and cannot be toggled off. The selection is stuck — clicking it again has no effect.

Environment:

Notion Web App
Gallery view with "Page content" card preview enabled

Impact:

Users cannot remove the card preview once "Page content" is selected, which affects gallery view customization.

I think it really depends on who you are students/ working adults/ entrepreneur.

In general I'll always tell people that Notion is a complicated tool, it's not like Excel where you can just plug and play.

However, if you're willing to learn despite all that then I highly recommend Thomas Frank's beginner playlist :)

You can't do rollup & rollup.

But what you can do is use the formula map().

prop("Organization DB").map(current.prop("AP Contact Email"))

It's essentially a more powerful version of rollup that allows you to filter and choose the exact data you want.

It'll be best if you can share a screenshot of what you're trying to achieve.

But if I were to guess out of context, Notion automation doesn't work if you try to trigger each other.

For example,

Automation 1
When I update Status to Ready

It will try an automation to update the Ready Date to Today

Automation 2

If Ready Date is updated, then send an email.

In this scenario Automation 2 will not trigger as Notion doesn't allow multi-automation trigger.

Hopefully this answer your questions.

The workaround is to either use button to trigger it manually or use 3rd party tool like zapier or pipedream.

Based on my experience after using Notion for the past 5 years.

PC
Browser has been the best for me so far (app can be buggy at times although it's faster). It's all the features and it's easier to code and setup automation.

Tablet
It's mostly functional with similar interface compared to PC. If you're not a super power user/ Notion consultant like me then it's more than sufficient imo.

Android Phone
I use this only for adhoc updates or when I don't have access to Laptop. Usually works best with a list database or simple pages.

tldr: Table is more than good enough for regular work and school.

If you want to get specific property out of your children database then you should use the formula property.

You can manipulate the order the children show up through reverse() and first()

If I'm understanding you correctly you're hoping to have 1 automation trigger another 1 automation.

If that's the case then it's not possible at the moment until Notion figure out a better solution.

The reason is that they don't want user to accidentally creating a chain reaction of Triggering A to B and C without knowing.
