How to activate my slash(/) function on notion?

Please I need help. I’m a first time notion user. I’ve watched some tutorials online about notion.

For some reason, I noticed that when I create a new page and click the slash button ( / ) on notion, the option to add content(I.e image, video, pages etc) does not appear just like other notion users. I’m using a Mac with a notion app. I don’t know whether it’s from my MacBook or my notion.

Please advise on this is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Can you provide a screenshot showing WHERE you are typing the "/" so we have a better sense of what/where the problem might be?

There is no setting for the blocks and it can't be turned off.

I suggest the following.

1- If you create a page and start with a / in the title, then it will not work, as you can't create blocks in the title of a page. Just to confirm you are not trying there.

You can create blocks using slash in the content of the page only.

2- Try Textedit and confirm you are actually typing a slash, maybe you have a different mapping in your keyboard.

3- Update Notion and macOS to the latest versions.

With those 3 you are covered and it must work.

Hope that helps.
