I want to create a simple calendar view that only shows dropdown (or tags) instead of having to fill out a name. For example, I can click the date in calendar and select between "running" or "skip running" to see monthly progress

Unfortunately that's not possible right now. If so I'd love to use it as well. My first thought was creating 2 templates inside the calendar database and name it "running" and "skip running". But when selecting one of the templates it erases the names..
What you may looking for is a habit tracker like the one I use:

Copy it into your Notion, click on "New Week" and see what's happening :)
