I want to check my to-do list in a board view, but the tasks can only be grouped by tags. Is there a way to do this in a Notion Kanban Board View and have tasks grouped by date?

Notion task lists can't be grouped by date at the moment. For sure this will be available in future updates.

Answering this now as it seems to be the top result that shows up in google:

You can now group board views by date by going to Database Settings -> Group and then setting "Group By" to Date and choosing how it will do it.
