Granular visibility on database entries

We have a database of key documents, with a handful of metadata about each. We've used the "share" option to give one user group access to some key documents (but not all documents). Users in that group can access the Notion page, but they can't see any of the database fields, so they can't access the metadata.

Is there a way to share a single category of database entries with a group, without sharing the whole database? I'd like the viewers to be able to see metadata as well as the page.

I am also wondering if there's any way to show users all of the database entries that they're able to view.

It is not possible, you have to share the complete Notion database.
