Let's say I have a table as shown in the attached image.

I would need to save in "Last status update" column when the "Status" cell of the same row was last updated.

This would allow me to write some smart code to prioritize tasks based on days since the last status update (see priority column).

Would it be possible somehow? Thanks in advance

It is not possible, "Last edited time" is not cell specific and there is no way to modify that.

On the other hand, you can create a formula based on the Status, so when X status is on that column, then X shows.

I believe the important thing here would be to understand the logic you are trying to create, like the complete scenario to share maybe another option that does the same.
