Page template with DB including items

I'd like to create a page template that includes a DB with items in it.

If I try to do this, creating a new item in the DB opens it in a separate page.

Is this possible?

Hi @Gabriel

I'm not clear on your question and the issue you're having with, "...opens it in a separate page."

I'm guessing your image/screenshot was supposed to help? But as you can see above in your question the image is unavailable.

Perhaps you can edit your original question with a working image?

Seems I can't edit the original, so here's another link

https://cln.sh/F5CmpqDs

To sum it up:

  1. Edit a page template "New Event"
  2. In the page content, add a DB "Event Tasks"
  3. Try to add a few tasks, like "Get Speaker", "Send Invites", etc.

RESULT: When adding items to the DB, you jump out of the template editor in a a New Event page.

EXPECTED: Add items to the DB, and the items will be cloned in each New Event page's "Events Tasks" DB.

Hey @Gabriel

Sadly, you can't do what you want to in the way you want to do it.

In the template, when creating an Inline Table View filtered on the [New Template] there is no way to also create a Task that is related to the [New Template].

But, what you can do instead is create a Button Property that you can click AFTER the new Event entry has been created. In a button, you can specify in which Database you want to create a new Task and you can also create the self-relate value to the current Event.

To make it easier to understand I went ahead and created an example Template that you can duplicate to your own workspace, reverse engineer, and modify it as you want.

Thanks for the answer and the template!
I'll go with the Button option.

You're very welcome, @Gabriel. It's an extra step than your optimum preference. But it's just a single button click. And once you start using buttons you'll be hooked!
